My first grader

"I knew when I met you an adventure was going to happen....."
A.A. Milne

Here is my first grader. Like it was yesterday, I remember those quiet moments, just she and I, cradling her in my arms. She would look up at me, making those sweet little cooing noises, and at that moment, all was right with the world.

I thought she might be stressed, nervous, scared, but as evidenced above, she clearly was not. As we walked up to the school, she spotted her Kindergarten teacher and ran over with the biggest hug! Wow- I thought she was gonna be sad to leave me, but it was I that had to hold back the tears. Full speed ahead, mom!

Summer's gone.....

Why does it seem that time during the summer is on fast forward? It's always over before we're ready for it to be. I tried to savor this one with my kids while they are still little, well... at least when I wasn't screaming at them or they at me! Next week, we have a first grader, and so it goes. Time that is.

"Time is free, but it's priceless.
You can't own it, but you can use it.
You can't keep it, but you can spend it.
Once you've lost it,
you can never get it back."
Harvey MacKay

AGD Blog Foto Find Friday - Eyes

"We must teach our children to dream with their eyes open."
Harry Edwards

I love the light that shines in the eyes of young children, especially my two little ones. Pure and innocent, with no worries at all about tomorrow. Except having fun.

This being my first post on my first blog.......I guess I'm a little nervous, putting myself out there and all. Inspired by father's passion for cameras and photography (he built his own darkroom and developed his own photographs) as well as Angie Seaman's amazing photography and the challenge set forth in her blog called "Foto Find Friday", I decided it was time for a blog of my own. I missed the first two Foto Find Friday's, so I'm going back a little. The first week was "Flowers". I picked up these sunflowers for 5 bucks at the local farmer's market, and they were so strikingly beautiful, almost breathtaking.
